Oil and gas career: Gas Engineering Supervisor

Job Responsibilities & Requirements:

-Develop and implement modules and programmes relating to gas management in order to ensure a gas installation to be maintained in good and efficient working order and to ensure safety of persons and safety measures shall be observed at all times.
-To ensure safety standards required under the Act and Regulations are well-trained and practised by the gas responsible person at sites.
-To ensure necessary steps are taken when maintenance work is carried out within vicinity in order to prevent a gas installation or gas equipment from being accidentally or inadvertently made unsafe.
-Liaison with other organisations and relevant Authorities, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
-To inspect and verify all related documents and drawings relating to gas system and installation within the building.
-Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Advanced/Higher Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Gas Engineering or equivalent.
-At least 2 year(s) of working experience in gas pipeline or gas installation work.
-Has sufficient knowledge of gas engineering practices including the principles of operation of gas equipment, transmission, distribution, utilisation, metering and maintenance of a gas pipeline or gas installation.
-A Malaysian citizen holding a certificate of competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga and registered with the Board of Engineers under the Registeration of Engineers Act 1967.

Job Requirements:

-Has proven ability to build and lead teams, as well as to effectively manage change. Enjoys working with others, and is results driven & customer oriented
-Experienced with preparation of Basis of Design and detailed specification packages for new project facilities
-Has good knowledge of current civil, storage & marine design, construction and maintenance in petrochemical or gas facilities
-Has fitness-for-service assessment capability for facilities, and is able to advise on repair or rejuvenation methods
-A valid visa or authorisation to work in the Malaysia is required for this position.

* Direct supervision of a team of Port Arthur Refinery (PAR) Maintenance Excellence (ME) work process focal point, cost leadership specialists, contract management supervisors and performance management specialists
* Accountable for meeting own functional budget

* Champion Maintenance Benchmarking and performance measurement for PAR and build learning into structured improvement plans, including looking externally toward World Class performers for performance comparison and Best Practices
* Ensure PAR compliance with all Downstream-One, Global ME, and Global Manufacturing Team requirements
* Deliver work that meets Port Arthur’s high standards for personal accountability in the areas of Safety and Environmental performance
* Accountable for team member development including developing and growing competencies, closing performance gaps and managing employee performance.

Job Requirements:

* Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a fulltime basis for anyone other then current employer
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical related field
* Minimum eight years experience in refinery or chemicals industry
* Minimum four years supervisory or management experience in refinery or chemicals industry
* Demonstrated evidence of developing improvement strategies in a refinery or chemicals position
