RecruitR has been engaged by a reputable miner to source a Senior Mining Engineer for one of their underground hard rock operations in NSW.

The successful candidate will ideally work on a residential basis and will be given subsidized housing in the local town.  There is the potential for FIFO from Sydney although this is not preferred.

In this position you will report to the Technical Services Superintendent and your duties and responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing day to day mine engineering functions such as ventilation, D&B and backfill
- Preparing monthly & annual budgets
- Project management
- 3- 12 month scheduling

To succeed in this role you will need 5+ years experience in technical / production roles coupled with tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering.  You will also have:

-Strong communication skills allowing you to work effectively with technical and production personnel
-The ability to complete projects on-time and on-budget
-Previous experience with ventilation, D&B and ideally backfill
-A strong commitment to safe working practices
-Reserves experience (preferred)
-NSW 1st class mine managers ticket (preferred)
-The ability to work effectively within a close-knit team

The position is offering an attractive base salary, superannuation and a bonus structure.  You will also be given subsidized housing locally and there is also the potential to FIFO from Sydney.

You will organize the purchase of equipment, material and services in a timely and cost-effective manner based on the contractual schedule and project specifications. Liaising with subcontractors, you will manage their schedules, quality, and releasing of payment based on completion of their work. With an eye for details, you will identify and resolve changes across the project. Your good communication skills are called upon in negotiation of change order with customers and suppliers.

Job Requirements:
