Shell is currently seeking a Manager Mine Support Services* to work at the Fort McMurray Albian Sands mining project.

Job Responsibilities:
Leadership and execution for long term mine plan including development of annual workforce plan in partnership with Human Resources, HSE regulatory directives & learning’s (including execution of FIM reports pertaining to the mine), Training, operator competence and assurance for Mine Operations. Ensuring the Mine Operations Personnel understand and comply with the applicable mining laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Leadership on execution and delivery of Capex projects within the mine. People management. Represent Shell Albian Sands in various internal/external company sponsored events. Total commitment in the execution of goals and raising the team’s performance to “Best in Class”.

Job Requirements:

* Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full time basis for anyone other than current employer
* No “fly in, fly out” option is offered with this position. Relocation to Fort McMurray is required
* Bachelor Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mining or Geology. Registered Professional Engineer an asset
* Valid AMSA Certification
* Effective communication skills, especially in the English language, both oral and written

Job Technical Competencies:

* 10 years of practical experience in an operating environment – preferably surface mining
* 5 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity
* Experience in project management would be an asset
* Experience in training or adult learning would be an asset
* Demonstrated ability to deliver results particularly in large cost or HSSE projects
